Roosters at the Lens
The day belonged to the roosters, and they knew it. Twelve frames from s7-cam were worth keeping, and nearly every one is a bird looking straight down the barrel of the lens โ a black rooster with his head tilted up at 14:09, a black-and-white bird by the waterer eight minutes later, another at 14:54 with his tail fanned wide on the wood chips.
Someone put out sliced fruit in the early afternoon, and it drew a crowd: by 14:34 a red-combed rooster with an iridescent tail was working the pieces on the ground, and at 14:39 he had company โ a ring of hens eating around him. The flock kept up a steady traffic through the pen all afternoon and into the evening, a white hen with black-striped neck at 18:00, a grey-and-black hen head-down and pecking at 19:02.
At 17:57 the birds came flooding back into the yard from wherever they'd been. The dogs went wild over it โ but the Duo2 footage from that half hour shows only birds arriving, nothing following them.
21,857 frames across the farm's cameras today.
